Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee of Zeolite 2010, the 8th International Conference on the Occurrence, Properties and Utilization of Natural Zeolites we have the pleasure to cordially invite all interested parties to join the work of this scientific meeting and the accompanying events. Zeolite '2010 is going to be held in Sofia, in the period of 10-18 July 2010 as the decision was taken on July 20, 2006 during the Business meeting of the 7th International Conference on the Occurrence, Properties and Utilization of Natural Zeolites of the International Natural Zeolite Association held in Socorro, New Mexico, USA.
Zeolite 2010 is the latest in a series of conferences organized under the auspices of the International Natural Zeolite Association (INZA)(inza.nmt.edu), formerly the International Committee on Natural Zeolites (ICNZ).
The initial conference was held in
Tucson, Arizona, USA in 1976 (Zeolite’76);
subsequent conferences were held in Budapest, Hungary (Zeolite’85);
Havana,Cuba (Zeolite’91)
Boise, Idaho, USA (Zeolite’93)
Ischia (Naples), Italy (Zeolite’97)
Thessaloniki, Greece (Zeolite’02)
and Socorro, New Mexico, USA (Zeolite’06).
Main hosting institution of the Zeolite 2010 will be the Central Laboratory of Mineralogy and Crystallography (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences)(www.clmc.bas.bg), which will be helped by the Geological Institute (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences)(www.geology.bas.bg); the Department of Mineralogy, Petrology, Ores and Minerals (Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”)(www.uni-sofia.bg), and the National Museum “Earth and Man”(www.earthandman.org).
