Dear Colleagues and Friends, On behalf of the Organizing Committee and National Crystallographic Committee, it is a pleasure to invite you to Sofia for the I^th National  Crystallographic Symposium.

The Symposium will take place in Earth and Man National Museum, Sofia, Bulgaria and will be the first event of this series. The scientific program of the symposium covers various fields of crystallography with specific focus on recent developments, detailed characterization and new areas of application. The members of the Scientific Board and the Invited speakers of the symposium are among the leading scholars in these fields in Bulgaria.

The contributions from the First National Crystallographic Symposium will be published in full text in a the first proceedings of these series.
